Cheryl Joyner Clark is an author, playwright, actress, and stage director known for her humor, heart, and the way she brings stories to life.Growing up in Memphis, Tennessee, she dreamed of writing—and that dream became reality in 1999 with He Has Given Us New Life, a play she wrote, directed, and performed.
Through her company, CHE WORKS IT (pronounced “she”), formerly CJC Productions, Cheryl has written, directed and produced seven powerful shows including Tell Hell I Ain’t Coming, Don’t Close Your Eyes, and I Want My Daddy. She has also self-published Christian fiction novels, No More Sunday Morning and Jade Song: A Blackwell Legacy.
Cheryl’s creativity extends beyond the stage—she has launched webisodes blending faith, emotion, and everyday life, and hosts the podcast A Letter To: Matters of the Heart, exploring healing, encouragement, and life’s shaping moments. Through every project, Cheryl inspires and uplifts audiences, showing that every story has the power to transform.
